I am an AF Veteran, honorably discharged in 2009. I have a DOD job now. I live in Pasco County Flordia. My problem is that my bills are more than I make and I understand that there is Financial Assistance out there for veterans, but I don't know where to look. Can someone help?

For centuries we veterans have gone to foreign countries to help fight their battles against terror, poverty, health problems and to help them rebuild. A few of us veterans in our area joined hands and felt it was time we joined hands with our own people and fight our war against poverty. We are called, "Veterans Helping Veterans & Others." We now have over 700 members. We help homeless, needy veterans and others that can not help themselves through our food pantry, clothing give away and etc. We help between 100 to 150 families each month at this time. During Christmas we help with food baskets and toys. The area in which we live and operate is listed as number two on the poverty list in the State of Ohio. It is very hard to keep food on the shelves, it goes out faster than it comes in. We have not been able to give out personal hygiene items for some time now due to lack of funds. Please visit our web site at www.veteranshelping.org to find out more about us. We welcome your input and what our veterans think about our work. If you can help us help in some way, we woluld appreciate it. We here way to often from our veterans who come to us for help that the only thing they get from the VA is a hard time.
