Assistance with son suffering from PTSD and TBI (no replies)

I'm seeking assistance for my son who has complications from TBI and PTSD. The brain injury from RPG percussions cause alterations in his brain chemistry leading to changes in his personality on a five-six month cycle. He is not manic-depressive. From the information I've read, he needs to be seen by a neuro-psychologist, but I don't have a clue on how to proceed with arranging for that in the VA system. We have been struggling with this for four years now. His stressors occur in late Sept./Oct and last until Feb.

Medical Bills (no replies)

I was involved in a serious vehicle accident July 2009. I requested the ambulance take me to the VA Hospital because I have no medical insurance but I am a Veteran. Instead, they took me to the OU (University of Oklahoma) Medical Center because the VA Hospital did not have a trauma center and the ambulance attendants decided the emergency room at the VA Hospital was not sufficient to treat me.

I am now facing extensive medical bills as a result and am wanting to know if there is any way to receive Veterans Administration assistance in covering these expenses.

Being a Veteran, I have earned the benefit but do not know how to obtain hospitalization expense coverage (since the VA Hospital did not - in the evaluation of the emergency medical personnel - have an adequate treatment facility available.

Please Help!

Agent Orange Benefits (7 replies)

Hello
I'm a Vietnam Veteran and served on the Aircraft Carrier USS Ticoderoga during 1968-1970 inwhich time we made two westpacs and flew many sorties from yankee and dixie station. I served on the flight deck & Hangar deck as an Aviation Boatswains Mate .
Anyway I developed type2 Diabetes and applied many times for benifits under to agent orange benefits, to NO avail.
I don't think it's fair to exclude sailors that actually handled the Bombs and planes that delivered this ordance and approve anybody that might have put a little toe down for a second on land.
Any help on this matter would be appreciated.

I'm a Viet Nam Vet, served with 1st Amtrac Battalion, 3rd Marine Div. at Cau Viet, Dec. 67 thru Jan.69. I have been on Social Security Dis. and VA 100% Comp. for 12+ years now, for PTSD...also have Bi-polar disorder, heart problems etc. My Mental complications tend to cause me to have little control over spending...I'm in credit debt to the tune of about $39,000.00. Is there Govt. Grant money to help in this sort of fix?

Of course I've curtailed spending...best I can and have always payed my bills...actually have a good credit rating. I have one of three cards payed down to the point of pay-off in 4 to 6 months, so I'm not sitting on my hands. Being messed up mentally is quite a trip, never thought I'd be so STUPID!!!! :-) But such is the case. I saw adds offering to sell info on Govt. grants...for a price. Some one out there knows the ropes with out resorting to those who Capitolize on freely obtained info.

If you can point me in the right direction, I will follow thru.

Thanks,
