I'm new at this and an old vet of Vn. Was on Kittyhawk CVA-63 and am damn sure we launced more than a few thousand gallons of AO off of cats 3 and 4. I crewed both those cats for over 3 and a half years and came out from under those birds wet from more than sweat. Saw a chopper explode on cat 4 while i was standing between an F4 belly tank and the dissintegrating rotors the pieces of which opened that tank and dumped on all of us.. Had it been jp well, i wouldn't be worrying about AO - would I ? Anyway i'm 68 and have had a life full of weird illnesses.. Look up the symptoms and I've got most of them. Yet they tell me if my pinky toe didn't touch dirt in Vn then i apparently wasn't involved with anything poisonous! CARBORUNDUM NON ILLEGITEMUS

I'm seeking assistance for my son who has complications from TBI and PTSD. The brain injury from RPG percussions cause alterations in his brain chemistry leading to changes in his personality on a five-six month cycle. He is not manic-depressive. From the information I've read, he needs to be seen by a neuro-psychologist, but I don't have a clue on how to proceed with arranging for that in the VA system. We have been struggling with this for four years now. His stressors occur in late Sept./Oct and last until Feb.

I was involved in a serious vehicle accident July 2009. I requested the ambulance take me to the VA Hospital because I have no medical insurance but I am a Veteran. Instead, they took me to the OU (University of Oklahoma) Medical Center because the VA Hospital did not have a trauma center and the ambulance attendants decided the emergency room at the VA Hospital was not sufficient to treat me.

I am now facing extensive medical bills as a result and am wanting to know if there is any way to receive Veterans Administration assistance in covering these expenses.

Being a Veteran, I have earned the benefit but do not know how to obtain hospitalization expense coverage (since the VA Hospital did not - in the evaluation of the emergency medical personnel - have an adequate treatment facility available.

Please Help!

Hello everyone. I am hoping that someone may have some insight on a specific program for vets with a service related disability. The name of the program is VOICE. I have not been able to find any information on the subject. This is what I know... Vets that have suffered a disability and meet a disability % level 30-50-100% etc. are able to be on this program. In many cases the veteran has been or is currently homeless, has or had a substance abuse problem, may have been incarcerated etc. While they can independantly live and take care of themselves to a certain level, their circumstances are such that they need to be monitored by a VA case manager and the VA pays for them to stay at "Adult Foster Care Facilities" or some other Assisted living arrangement. The VA will also pay the veteran a stipen to live, based on their progress and needs in the program. This program is associated in relation to MHICM (Mental Health Intensive Case management). Any help that anyone may provide would be helpful.
I am a veteran looking into providing care for these individuals. Again, thank you for any help you may provide.

Following the attack, on December 8th, 1941, FDR gave the following speech:

"Mr. Vice President, Mr. Speaker, Members of the Senate, and of the House of Representatives:
Yesterday, December 7th, 1941 — a date which will live in infamy — the United States of America was suddenly and deliberately attacked by naval and air forces of the Empire of Japan.

The United States was at peace with that nation and, at the solicitation of Japan, was still in conversation with its government and its emperor looking toward the maintenance of peace in the Pacific.

Indeed, one hour after Japanese air squadrons had commenced bombing in the American island of Oahu, the Japanese ambassador to the United States and his colleagues delivered to our Secretary of State a formal reply to a recent American message. While this reply stated that it seemed useless to continue the existing diplomatic negotiations, it contained no threat or hint of war or of armed attack.

It will be recorded that the distance of Hawaii from Japan makes it obvious that the attack was deliberately planned many days or even weeks ago. During the intervening time, the Japanese government has deliberately sought to deceive the United States by false statements and expressions of hope for continued peace.

The attack yesterday on the Hawaiian islands has caused severe damage to American naval and military forces. I regret to tell you that very many American lives have been lost. In addition, American ships have been reported torpedoed on the high seas between San Francisco and Honolulu.

Yesterday, the Japanese government also launched an attack against Malaya.

Last night, Japanese forces attacked Hong Kong.

Last night, Japanese forces attacked Guam.

Last night, Japanese forces attacked the Philippine Islands.

Last night, the Japanese attacked Wake Island.

This morning, the Japanese attacked Midway Island.

Japan has, therefore, undertaken a surprise offensive extending throughout the Pacific area. The facts of yesterday and today speak for themselves. The people of the United States have already formed their opinions and well understand the implications to the very life and safety of our nation. As commander in chief of the Army and Navy, I have directed that all measures be taken for our defense. But always will our whole nation remember the character of the onslaught against us.

No matter how long it may take us to overcome this premeditated invasion, the American people in their righteous might will win through to absolute victory.

I believe that I interpret the will of the Congress and of the people when I assert that we will not only defend ourselves to the uttermost, but will make it very certain that this form of treachery shall never again endanger us.

Hostilities exist. There is no blinking at the fact that our people, our territory, and our interests are in grave danger.

With confidence in our armed forces, with the unbounding determination of our people, we will gain the inevitable triumph — so help us God.

I ask that the Congress declare that since the unprovoked and dastardly attack by Japan on Sunday, December 7th, 1941, a state of war has existed between the United States and the Japanese empire."

To those who put themselves in harms way to protect those back home, many of whom have no appreciation for all you do. It is you who make our way of life possible.
I wish that there were select online colleges that would have the same housing benefits as other schools. Some colleges online are legitimate. There are some family men and women who don't have the time to attend regular school or go to work but can always find the time to get online an hour a day to study. It only makes sense to me, hopefully the change will come! (:D

Thanks! I hadn't planned on differentiating, as most programs appear to be be meant for all branches. I'd be more than happy to though, if there is support for it. Anyone aware of programs specifically designed for individual branches?
